ASADABAD (Pajhwok): At least 14 civilians have been killed and 30 more wounded in rain-induced floods in eastern Kunar province, an official said on Monday.
Ehsanullah Ihsan, a natural disaster management official, confirmed the civilian casualties to Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said more than 30 other people were wounded in the recent flash floods, triggered by rains in several areas of the province.
He added about 6,563 animals were also killed and 509 houses and tens of acres of farmlands, including orchards, destroyed.
Teams sent to the affected areas were yet to complete a survey of the losses . . .
