KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Thirty-seven coronavirus-positive cases have been registered in the past three weeks in northern Kunduz province, an official said on Wednesday.
Public Health Director Najeebullah Sahel said coronavirus cases have again surged in the province recently.
He said most new cases surfaced from the far-flung areas where people ignored to implement health measures and escaped coronavirus vaccination.
He said in the past three weeks a total 437 suspected cases were brought to the laboratory for tests out of which 37 were positive. This comes that one month earlier only 10 positive cases were registered.
“This is a big number of positive cases in the past three weeks, during the upcoming Eid people should ensure health measures and there is a need for public awareness,” he said.
Mohammad Shafiq Sadiq, a medical doctor, in a coronavirus hospital blamed public negligence towards and violation of health measures for growing cases of coronavirus.
