Eidul Adha: Hundreds of prisoners released countrywide

KABUL (Pajhwok): The government has released hundreds of prisoners from various jails across the country on the account of Eid-ul-Adha, an official said on Friday.

Government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on his Twitter account: “According to the decree of Amir al-Mu’minin and the directive of the Supreme Court, on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha, a total of 935 prisoners with relatively trivial cases have been released from prisons in 34 provinces.”

Recently the government released 117 prisoners in Laghman and 350 prisoners in Kandahar province.
