KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran preferred the import of Afghan products and keen on friendly neighborhood with Afghanistan, the country’s envoy said on Sunday.
Iranian Ambassador to Afghanistan BahadurAminyan during a meeting with Acting Foreign Minister Ameer Khan Muttaqi expressed these views, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Both sides discussed matters related to Afghan refugees, prisoners, drug trafficking, border issues and bilateral trade cooperation.
The Iranian envoy said Tehran helped Afghan farmers and wanted to import Afghan products.
Acting Foreign Minister Muttaqi said efforts were on to convert Afghanistan into a regional trade and transit hub and facilitate trade between Iran and Tajikistan.
It was agreed that delegations from both sides would hold meetings to resolve border related matters to further strengthen bilateral trade and cooperation between the two nations.
