JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Some residents in Jalalabad City, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, have demanded the construction of their roads, streets and alleys.
They complained most of their streets and roads were still unpaved and people were facing problems when it is raining, urging the government to construct them.
Jalalabad municipality also assured the budget has been allocated for the reconstruction and repair of roads and streets and the construction will kick start soon.
Sher Wali, a local resident, said: “Most of the alleys and pathways in Jalalabad city have not been reconstructed and some of them have been left half-finished, due to which people are facing problems.”
Noor Mohammad, another resident said, a number of roads in Jalalabad City, the provincial capital were on the verge of destruction.
Dost Mohammad Chardiwal, a senior Jalalabad Municipality official, told Pajhwok the asphalt work of some alleys had been started recently in 7th police district.
For years now, people have been criticizing contract companies using low-quality and low-quality materials in the reconstruction of roads, and after a short time, the newly constructed roads deteriorate.
