KABUL (Pajhwok): China will start issuance of visas to Afghans next week, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.
The pledge was made by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a meeting with Acting Foreign Minister Ameer Khan Muttaqi in Tashkent.
The two sides discussed the bilateral relationship and the economic and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister hailed the acting Afghan government’s efforts in the administration of humanitarian aid and improvement in the security situation.
During the meeting, Chinese foreign minister pledged that Beijing will start the issuance of visas to Afghans from the start of August.
Acting Foreign Minister Muttaqi also hailed China position during Tashkent Conference on Afghanistan and hope that practical steps would be taken on the economic and humanitarian mechanisms agreed between the two nations.
