KABUL (Pajhwok): Some drivers in the Khak-i-Jabbar district of Kabul province said that a part of the retaining wall along with the second Kabul-Jalalabad Road had been damaged by recent floods and if not rebuilt future floods could damage the district road.
Obaidullah, one of the local drivers, said three weeks earlier a part of the retaining wall along with the Kabul-Jalalabad second road in Sang Qorul area was demolished by floods. The floods first swept away the retaining wall and then it harmed the bottom of the road if attention was not paid it would damage the road in the future.
He said people from Khakh-i-Jabbar, Tezeen and Logar’s Azra district move on this road, and if it perished by the next flood the road could be blocked on people.
Khak-i-Jabbar District Chief Qari Mohammad Salar said footage of the site had been sent to the Kabul Governor’s Office and it was referred to the Disaster Management Authority.
“We are aware of the issue, the local elders also acknowledged the matter, we are serious about it and will follow the case,” he added.
