KABUL (Pajhwok): In a rare move, Japan has given refugee status to nearly 100 Afghan nationals, a media report said on Tuesday.
The 98 Afghans, who were granted refugee status, had fled their homeland in the wake of the Taliban’s takeover in August 2021.
Kyodo News quoted official sources as saying the newly-recognised refugees included those who had worked for the Japanese Embassy in Kabul and their families.
