TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Youth in northern Takhar province launched a bicycle race in an attempt to create an atmosphere of mutual accommodation and happiness.
Farhad, an organiser of the event, told Pajhwok Afghan News that wholesome sporting activity conveyed a message of peace and happiness.
With this in mind, he said, they launched a cycling competition to being cheers to entertainment-starved people and create an atmosphere of brotherhood, tolerance and peace. Dozens of cyclists participated in the competition.
He added as part of the race, the cyclists travelled 100 to 160 kilometres, sending a message of peace and friendship.
