Indian sugar price declines in Kabul markets

KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of Kazakh flour, Malaysian cooking oil, Pakistani rice and petrol increased while the rate of Indian sugar decreased during the outgoing week in Kabul, market sources said on Saturday.

An employee of Ahmadyar Group Pump Station said the price of one liter of petrol increased by one afghani from 84afs to 85afs. However, the price of diesel remained unchanged at 104 afs.

Also, Mohammad Sharif, a gas seller in Kabul’s Kolola Pushta area, said that today, like seven days ago, one kilogram of liquid gas accounted for 68 Afs.

Zmari Safi, Head of the Food Traders Association in Kabul, said today (Saturday) the whole sale prices of 49-kilogram of Kazakh Flour increased from 2,450afs to 2,500afs, 16-litre of Malaysian cooking oil from 1,950afs to 2,050afs and 24.5 kilograms of Pakistani rice from 3,000afs to 3,200afs.

He said the price of 49 kilograms of Indian sugar decreased from 3,300afs to 2,150afs.

He added that one kilogram of Indonesian green tea was sold for 350afs, and one kilogram of black African tea for 400afs.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer at Dahni Bagh area of Kabul, said the retail price of 49-kilogram of Kazakh flour was 2,550 afs, 24-kilogram of Pakistanis rice 3,250 afs, 49-kilogram of Indian Sugar 3,200 afs, 16-litre of Malaysian cooking oil 2,100 afs, one kilogram of Indonesian green tea 400 afs, and one kilogram of black African tea 450 afs.

Gold prices remain unchanged

Mohammad Javid, one of the jewelry sellers in Lacyee Maryam market, said the price of one gram of Arabic gold (Ayaar 750) was 4,100 afs and one gram of Russian variety (Ayaar 585) remained unchanged at 3,300 afs, same as last week.

Haji Sadaqat, head of the Sadaqat money exchange at Shahzada Market, said one dollar was accounted for 88.40 afs while 1,000 Pakistani accounted for 380 afs.

Last week, one dollar was accounted for 88 afs while 1,000 Pakistani rupees consumed 380 afs.
