HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Two opium processing factories have been destroyed in separate operations in eastern Herat province, an official said on Monday.
Police Spokesperson Mahmood Shah Rasouli while confirming development said counter-narcotics personnel discovered and destroyed two drug production and processing factories in Karkh district during two separate operations.
According to Rasouli, this operation was carried out in the center of Karakh and a large amount of supplies and equipment that were used in the production of drugs were obtained from the factories.
He said that eight people were arrested during the raids and were being investigated.
