KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): Three members of a family were killed and two others injured when explosives the family had dumped in their home went off in Zheri district of southern Kandahar province on Monday.
The incident took place at around 12:00 in the afternoon in Sanjari area of the district, said Zheri District Police chief Mullah Atta Muhammad.
He told Pajhwok the explosion took place in the house of previous government’s Zheri District Brigade Commander Mahmoud.
Mahmoud’s sons wanted to rebuild their house, when explosives they had dumped detonated, killing his two sons and one daughter, and injuring his wife and brother.
The injured were taken to Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar city and so far there was no information about the extent of their injuries.
