KABUL (Pajhwok): The new acting minister of education has assumed office, calling his assignment a big challenge.
Maulvi Habibullah Agha, who was officially introduced to the ministry’s staff on Monday, replaced Noorullah Munir as education minister.
Agha has taken up the job amid growing calls from national and international figures and organisations for the reopening of girls’ schools above sixth grade.
Speaking to journalists on the occasion Munir wished the incoming minister success in his mission. He urged ministry employees cooperate with Agha.
