LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Residents of the Sangin district in southern Helmand province say the past conflicts had destroyed their schools and students study under the open sky.
Mohammad Aslam, a resident of Sangin district, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a number of school buildings, including the central high school of the district, had been destroyed in the past conflicts and airstrikes.
He added students of these schools attended classes under the open sky and the government should repair the buildings.
Abdul Munir, another resident, held similar view and urged rapid reconstruction of school buildings.
Maulvi Mohammad Awaz Ansari, director of education, said efforts were underway to reconstruct damaged schools’ buildings and hoped it would be done soon.
