Bridges on two key highways to be reconstructed

KABUL (Pajhwok): A joint technical team from the Ministry of Public Works and a Turkish construction firm will visit and survey the Kabul-Kandahar and Salang highways for the reconstruction purpose.

Mullah Abdul Hanan Omari, minister of public works, met the head of the Turkish-77 Company on the reconstruction of bridges on the highways on Wednesday, the ministry tweeted.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed ongoing work on the Basaki bridge in Zabul province, hailing it as a model of the Turkish 77 construction firm.

Damaged bridges on Kabul-Kandahar and Salang highways will be visited and their reconstruction will resume after a technical survey.
