Umul Belad wins Volleyball Premier League

KABUL (Pajhwok): Umul Belad have won the zonal Volleyball Premier League for the second time, the Afghanistan National Olympic Committee (ANOC) said on Monday.

Atal Mashwani, head of ANOC’s media office, told Pajhwok Afghan News the volleyball contests began on the October 8 and six teams participated in the league.

Mashwani said Umul Belad, Nishtar, Nagin Hariwa, Bala Hesar, Spin Ghar and Bost teams took part in the competition.

Umul Belad played against Balahisar in the final and won the championship by scoring two points, with Bala Hesar winning one point.

He added 40 other players from different provinces participated in the league.

Umul Belad, it may be recalled, had clinched the title last year as well.
