PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Intelligence officials in northern Baghlan province on Friday claimed discovering and seizing arms and ammunition in Pul-i-Khumri.
The weapons and ammunition dump was discovered during a special operation in the Shamraq area of the provincial capital, the Intelligence Department said.
A statement from the department said the operation, which led to the seizure of 20 weapons, was conducted on the basis of a tip-off.
A heavy machine-gun, an M-16 rifle, 12 Kalashnikovs, six pistols and a walkie-talkie were seized by the intelligence operatives.
However, no arrests have been made yet in connection with seizure of the arms, buried in the area.
