KABUL (Pajhwok): Five people were killed and several others were injured in a gun attack on a vehicle carrying medical workers of the 207th Farooq Military Corps in western Herat province on Thursday, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said.
The MoD on its twitter page wrote unknown gunmen attacked a vehicle carrying medical personnel of 207 Al-Farooq Corps in Herat city this morning, killing five people and injuring a number of others.
The ministry did not reveal the exact number of those injured, but some media outlets put the number of injured at 18.
The Ministry of Defense said such attacks could not demoralize security forces.
Local government officials have not yet commented on the incident.
The attack comes days after a bomb blast struck a vehicle in the 6th security district of Kabul city, leaving three people injured.
