KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): A young man shot dead a girl and then committed suicide in this capital city of northern Kunduz province, police said on Friday.
Kunduz police spokesman Ubaidullah Abidi told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened in Saidabad area in the limits of 4th security district of Kunduz City.
He identified as the young man as Jahsh who first shot a girl named Farida with a pistol and then shot himself and both of them died.
The girl was engaged to another boy two months ago.
Abidi said the incident seemed to be the outcome of domestic violence, but security forces have launched their investigation to know the exact cause.
Such incidents have increased in different parts of the country.
