Woman commits suicide in Faryab’s Kohistan district

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A young woman has committed suicide in the Kohistan district of northwestern Faryab province, an official said on Sunday.

Crime Branch Chief Mufti Mohammad Esmael Furqani told Pajhwok Afghan News a young woman Farida from the Damqul area of Faizabad’s 1^st Police District committed suicide by taking prescribed medicine.

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon, he said, adding the family violence was the reason behind the suicide she committed.

One of a local influential person said that the husband of deceased woman was in Iran and she was facing violence from her in laws.

Separately, a 10-year boy was killed in traffic accident in the Balcharagh district on Saturday. The driver of vehicle had been arrested.
