KABUL (Pajhwok): The world faces a plain option between working together or collective suicide in the campaign against global warming, says the UN chief.
Speaking at a climate summit in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt on Monday, Antonio Guterres warned: “Humanity has a choice: cooperate or perish.”
“It is either a climate solidarity pact or a collective suicide pact,” AFP quoted the secretary-general as telling world leaders on Monday.
Guterres called for accelerating the transition to renewable energy, asking richer countries to aid poorer nations, with little contribution to emissions.
