PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan has abstained from voting on a UN General Assembly resolution expressing deep concern at the volatility in Afghanistan.
In the resolution that Pakistan slammed as unbalanced and unrealistic, the UNGA noted with concern persistent violence and abuse of human rights in Afghanistan.
According to the state-run APP, the assembly passed the resolution by 116 votes in favour and none against. There were 10 abstentions.
China, Russia, Pakistan, Belarus, Burundi, North Korea, Ethiopia, Guinea, Nicaragua and Zimbabwe stayed away from voting on the resolution.
