MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A newly-constructed dormitory has been inaugurated at the main public-sector university in northern Balkh province, an official said on Saturday.
The dormitory, constructed at a cost of $18 million, contains 400 rooms, in addition to conference rooms. It has the capacity to accommodate more than a thousand students.
Minister of Higher Education Maulvi Neda Mohammad Nadeem, who inaugurated the hostel, said his ministry planned to complete work on buildings for medical and Sharia faculties.
He promised the government would soon start creating green belts and planting saplings in the yard of the university.
