PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Officials from Afghanistan and Pakistan have failed to agree on the reopening of the Chaman crossing.
As the Friendship Gate remains closed, a flag meeting between officials from both sides took place on Saturday. However, the negotiators failed to arrive at an agreement.
The Chaman crossing was shut for an indefinite period of time a week ago, after an armed suspect side opened fire on Pakistani security personnel at Friendship Gate.
At yesterday’s flag meeting, officials discussed the need for a joint mechanism to end incidents of violence at the crossing, Dawn reported on Sunday.
