KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Maulvi Shahabuddin Dilawar has urged the Chinese contractor to launch work on the Mes Aynak (copper mine).
The ministry tweeted that the acting minister met the CEO of Aynak copper project contractor Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) at his office late on Sunday.
Dilawar said: “The MCC should discharge its responsibilities and obligations.” He emphasised on the launch of practical work on the project.
The MCC chief executive assured practical work would be launched after the complete transfer of historical monuments from the site.
