PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Peshawar is set to host a sports gala featuring upcoming Afghan refugees living in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Jointly organised by the Afghan Commissionerate and UNHCR, cricket, the two-week gala will include futsal, indoor games, drawing and other events.
Director of Education and Youth Development Cell Ehsanullah said the Afghan Commissionerate had been conducting sports activities for the refugee youth in collaboration with UNHCR since 2016.
Lasting two weeks, the events would commence from Nov. 29, the official said, adding the objective was to promote peace, sports and cultural activities.
