ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Acting Defense Minister Mualvi Mohammad Yaqoob met with US special representative for Afghanistan Thomas West in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Defense in a statement said Yaqoob and West who met in Abu Dhabi discussed the issues of Afghanistan.
Mualvi Yaqoob assured the US special representative that Afghanistan was safe and all its borders were secure and there was no threat from the territory of Afghanistan to the countries of the region and the world.
He also assured West that the territory of Afghanistan had not been used and would not be used against any country. He asked the world to respect the territorial integrity of Afghanistan.
A day earlier, West, who is accompanied by the head of the US embassy Karen Decker, discussed the latest situation in Afghanistan with Indian officials and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in New Delhi.
West stressed the need for a national dialogue among the Afghans during his talks with Abdullah and Indian officials.
