NEILI (Pajhwok): A number of residents of central Daikundi province complain that the telecommunication networks do not work properly, while in some places people have no access to telecommunication services.
Mohammad Akbar, a resident of Miramor district, said there was weak telecom signals in their area and they had to climb mountains or high places in order to make a call.
In addition to voice call, Akbar said he needed internet as well and he lost so many opportunities due to lack of proper telecommunication and internet services.
“Telephone is not working in our house and we have to travel about 30 minutes in order to make a contact with someone or climb to high places,” he added.
Gul Mohammad Ahmadi, an inhabitant of Ashtarli district, said no telecom firm was operating in their area so he had to go to a high place in order to make a call.
He said people of very limited areas in their district had access to the telecom and internet services.
The resident of Daikundi urged the government to address the telecom issue as soon as possible.
Ehsanullah Asim, director of telecommunication and information, told Pajhwok that telecom firms were operating in all the districts, but some villages were deprived of telecommunication services due to being in the mountains.
He said the government was striving to provide all the facilities to the citizens.
