KABUL (Pajhwok): The death toll from a fire inside the Salang tunnel in central Parwan province has risen to 31 with 37 others injured, the Ministry of Public Health says.
An oil tanker overturned and caught fire inside the Russian built tunnel last night on the Salang highway that connects the Kabul with northern provinces, officials said.
Several vehicles moving close to the tanker also caught fire and so far only the tanker has been pulled out and efforts were underway to pull out the rest of the cars.
