Former president  Karzai returns to Kabul

KABUL (Pjhwok): Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has returned to the country after his 17 days of foreign trip, his office said on Wednesday.

Karzai Chief of Staff Shujah Khan said confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News the former president returned to the country at around 7:00 am on Wednesday.

After the political change in the country of the 15 of August 2021, Hamid Karzai stayed in the country, the caretaker government did not allow him to travel abroad, which he had also pointed about in some interviews.

But Karzai was allowed two weeks ago to travel to Germany for some medical purposes.

On his way to Germany, he met Thomas West, the special envoy of the United States for Afghanistan in United Arab Emirates, and some Afghans.

Karzai also met the Fazel Ahmad Manawi, former justice minister of the previous government and Mohammad Sadiq Mudaber, another official in Berlin, then he headed to Turkey and discussed the current situations of the country with Mohammad Muhaqiq and Mohammad Karim Khalili.

Shuja added that more detail of the trip will be publicized later.
