KABUL (Pajhwok): US Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West says the ban on higher education of girls is a damaging and indefensible decision.
The Ministry of Higher Education announced on Monday that higher education for girls in the country had been suspended until further notice.
“All public and private universities of the country are informed that according to the Cabinet decision, the education of females has been suspended until further notice.”
Girls’ schools above sixth grade have already been closed since March.
