HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The residents of Kahsan district in western Herat province have complained against the lack basic living facilities and government attention schools and overall education sector.
Kahsan is one of the important districts of the province where vital Islam Qala Port is situation that play highly important role in the economic development of the country.
Mohammad Hanif, the resident of Kahsan district told Pajhwok Afghan News from the past two years the construction of a half-completed school not completed in their area.
Mirwais, another resident of Islam Qala, said Islam Qala City has more population and people but still there was shortage of education facilities.
He said in most areas of Kahsan schools are without basic facilities, but in Kamana areas where he lives schools a school building is half completed and have no bathrooms.
He added most students whose homes are close to school go to their own housed when their need washroom.
“In our locality there no enough facilities and the school system is not up to the standard,” he added.
Mullah Abdul Nasir, deputy education director, told Pajhwok Afghan News the lack of building was he major issue of their district which needed to be resolved.
“In some areas schools have no building, if it has building it lack chairs, table and other important items,” he added.
Information Director Mawlana Naeemulhaq said he was confident that the Education Department will assess the situation and build schools in the far-flung areas.
Haqqani stressed that government efforts to resolved education sector related issues are ongoing.
Herat education director was not reached for comment despite Pajhwok Afghan News efforts.
