KABUL (Pajhwok): A 15-member body of religious scholars called the Ulema Council has been set up in central Kapisa province, an official said on Tuesday.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, said a statement the council was formed in accordance with a decree from Taliban’s Supreme Leader Maulvi Haibatullah Akhundzada.
Religious scholars and influential figures are part of the council, which will share its views with the provincial administration of different issues.
Mujahid said Maulvi Ihsanullah was appointed as the head of the council and Maulvi Sibghatullah as his deputy. Maulvi Shareeh is its administrative . . .
