KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has expressed its profound concern at the ban on Afghan women working for local and foreign NGOs.
“Banning women would have a significant impact on humanitarian operations in the country, including those of the UN, and the delivery of aid and health work,” UNSC members said.
In a statement on Saturday, they called upon the caretaker government to reopen schools and swiftly reverse these policies and practices, representing an increasing erosion of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
