KABUL (Pajhwok): UNAMA acting head Markus Potzel during a meeting with Vice and Virtue Minister Mohammad Khalid Hanafi called for urgent lifting of bans on women’s education and work.
On its twitter page, UNAMA quoted Potzel as saying that the latest discriminatory bans against women by Taliban were preventing life-saving help reaching Afghans and will hit Afghanistan economy.
He called for urgent lifting of restrictions on women’s education and aid agency work.
The Ministry of Higher Education last month suspended women’s higher education and banned women from working in domestic and foreign NGOs until further notice . . .
