KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Some dairy products shopkeepers in northern Kunduz province have complained against the stagnating market situation and said dairy sale had declined recently.
They linked the dwindling market situation with the economic problems faced by the people, low quality of dairy products by some shopkeepers and lack of government support from their business.
Omaid Khan, 56, is associated with dairy products business over the past nine years. He said due to the dwindling market situation his business was facing decline.
He said the unfriendly business situation forces him to decline the number of workers.
“By the grace of Allah, we have more production but there is no market due to economic problems faced by the people. We have few workers and our products are healthy. Some people produce dairy products in their homes which are not health and bring them to the market for sale,” he said.
Najibullah, the owner of another dairy product shop in Kunduz City, also complained against deteriorated market situation.
He said they supplied their products to the market daily but have no customers, adding that if situation remained the same their business will collapse.
Najibullah Hassan, director livestock health department, said: “We accept the problems mentioned by the dairy sellers, we are committed to supporting and marketing domestic products, with the improvement of the dairy business, the work environment will be favorable for the people and the farmers will be indirectly supported.”
Kunduz is an Agricultural province in the north of the country and most people are associated with agriculture and livestock and earned their livelihood through this way.
