PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Inordinate delays in clearance of containers imported under the Afghan Transit Trade Agreement (ATTA) have sparked concerns among business leaders from the two countries.
The delays largely result from official demands for irrelevant documents at the Karachi sea port, says the Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI).
PAJCCI Director Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi claimed excessive red tape had led to the diversion of trade to sea ports of other countries, including Chabahar and Bandar Abbas in Iran.
