QALAT (Pajhwok): At least nine passengers were injured on Thursday when a flipped over on the Kabul-Kandahar highway in the Shah Joi district of southern Zabul province, a security official said.
Zabihullah Jauhar, spokesman for the Zabul police headquarters, told Pajhwok Afghan News, the accident happened in Gajoy area of the district at about 10am.
The bus travelling from Kabul to Kandahar went out of control and overturned, wounding nine passengers, Jauhar said.
The security personnel evacuated the wounded passengers to the district hospital, he said, linking the incident to the driver’s negligence.
Syed Mubarak Shah, a doctor at the Shah Joi District Hospital, confirmed receiving nine wounded people for medical treatment. The injured were in stable condition, he added.
The Kabul-Kandahar highway, damaged due to the previous war and heavily-loaded trucks, often witnesses such incidents.
