PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): A 30-bed Hospital in the Jalga district of northern Baghlan province has been non-functional three years after its inauguration, according to local residents on Monday.
Rahmuddin, the resident of Jalga district, told Pajhwok Afghan News three years ago a hospital was constructed in the district but the facility is without medical service.
“We demanded the facility to be operationalized but our demand was ignored. We have a lot of issues in health sector and want them to be resolved,” he said.
Qazi Qalamuddin, another resident of locality, said the hospital building is modern and well-constructed but it was not functional.
“We take our patients to Nahrin district for treatment but during winter the road is blocked and we cannot take them to Nahrin as well. We want this issue to be resolved,” he added.
Baghlan Health Department Director Dr.Masoud Ahmadi said the Jalga Hospital was built during the past government but the facility was not functional.
He said he shared the issue with the Public Health Ministry and they planned to send medical personnel to all hospitals that are not functional.
