KABUL (Pajhwok): A polio vaccination campaign was launched in 15 provinces of the country said on Monday, the Ministry of Public Health announced.
Ministry spokesman Sharaf Zaman told Pajhwok Afghan News the first polio vaccination drive of 2023 had begun as planned.
He said around 5.3 million children under the age of five would be vaccinated in 178 districts of 15 provinces during the four-day campaign.
The drive is being conducted in Farah, Helmand, Herat, Kabul, Kandahar, Khost, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Nimroz, Nuristan, Paktia, Paktika, Uruzgan and Zabul.
