ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Some of its sites have come under drone attack, Iran’s defence ministry said on Sunday.
A statement from the defence ministry in Tehran said the drone attacks were carried out at midnight.
The ministry installations were attacked in Isfahan province. However, the air raids caused no casualties.
The statement continued the attacks were conducted by small bird-like drones, hours after a huge explosion at an arms production factory in Isfahan.
The explosion caused no casualties, according to the ministry, which added two more drones were targeted and destroyed in the air.
The ministry did not blame any country or group for conducting the strikes.
However some Iranian residents wrote on their social media accounts that similar attacks had also happened in other parts of the country. But the claims were not confirmed by independent sources.
Two days ago, seven people were killed in an armed attack on a Jewish worship place in Jerusalem.
After that attack, the Israel prime minister accused Iran of involvement and vowed swift revenge.
