KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Food and Drug Authority (NFDA) has denied the existence of contaminated cough syrups for children in the country.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has called for immediate and concerted action to prevent children from contaminated medicines after a spate of child deaths linked to cough syrups last year.
“WHO is releasing an urgent call to action to countries to prevent, detect and respond to incidents of substandard and falsified medical products,” the organization said in a statement last week.
