SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): More than 700 new vacancies in the Education Department of northern Sar-i-Pul province will be filled through an exam to overcome the shortage of teachers and administrative staff by 60 percent, an official said on Wednesday.
Education Director Maulvi Mohammad Rahmani told Pajhwok Afghan News: “The Ministry of Education has added 719 posts of teachers and executive employees in the Education Department of Sar-i-Pul.”
He said that 234 posts were related to Islamic education and another 484 posts to general education and an exam would be taken from people applying for the positions.
He added that by hiring teachers and administrative employees on these positions, the problem of shortage of teachers and administrative employees in the province will be solved by 60 percent.
According to Rahmani, currently 3000 teachers and employees in the Department of Education are serving and educating more than 400,000 students.
