Salang highway closed for cargo vehicles

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): The Salang highway, connecting Kabul with northern provinces, has been closed for cargo trucks due to heavy snowfall and wind storm, an official said on Monday.

Hafiz Mohammad Yaqoob, maintenance commander of the highway, said the key road was closed for heavy traffic.

Yaqoob said small vehicles, however, could travel with using chain.
