KABUL (Pajhwok): Fifty-seven alleged criminals have been arrested in capital Kabul and some provinces in connection to different crimes, an official said on Tuesday.
Abdul Nafi Takoor, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on his Twitter handle wrote that alleged criminals had been arrested in the past 24 hours in Kabul and some provinces.
Six of the arrested persons were professional armed robbers from Sar-i-Pul, five criminals involved in forgery held in Jawzjan, 5 thieves from Farah and 3 thieves were arrested from Kabul, Takoor said.
The MoI in its separate statement said that 16 others were arrested for selling drugs.
The Ministry said, the drug sellers were arrested in Herat, Sar-i-Pul, Bamyan and Paktika provinces. Nine of the arrested persons were held in Herat, four in Sar-i-Pul, 2 in Bamyan and another one in Paktika province.
The source did not provide information about the gender of the arrested ones nor about the amount of the confiscated drugs from them.
According to another report from the northern Balkh province, security forces arrested 15 persons for kidnaping, gambling and some other crimes.
The police headquarters of Balkh, on 13<sup>th</sup> of February said, the personnel of counter crimes department arrested 15 persons in that province.
6 of the arrested persons were held for theft, 3 of them for moral crimes, 4 of them for gambling and 2 more for kidnaping, the source said.
The statement added that the files of the arrested persons were referred to judicial organs of the government.
