LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Five pump stations selling adulterated fuel have been closed in southern Helmand province, an official said on Thursday.
Maulvi Muhammad Qasim Riaz, Deputy Director of Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News three fuel pumps were closed in Nad Ali, one in Marja and one in Lashkargah for selling low quality fuel
He said a joint committee of representatives of the provincial government, police, intelligence department and representatives of oil sellers had been constituted to determine the quality of oil.
As a result of the committee’s efforts, he said, so far 20 pumps selling adulterated feul have been closed in the past few months.
He said oil quality monitoring continued in Lashkargah and districts to prevent low quality fuel imports.
