MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Doctors in northern Balkh province were able to completely replace the blood of a newborn baby after applying 20 procedures.
Dr. Najibullah Tawana, director of public health, said doctors of the children department of Abu Ali Sina hospital performed the double volume exchange transfusion for the first time in the north.
He said the procedure was applied and performed to a child who had severe jaundice.
According to him, this procedure was done successfully after 20 medical procedures.
