KABUL (Pajhwok): Flour and gold prices decreased in Kabul during the outgoing week, but that of sugar surged, market sources said on Saturday.
Fuel prices unchanged
A worker at the Ahmadyar Group of Pump Stations said the price of one litre of petrol stayed unchanged at 70afs and diesel at 86afs.
Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in KalolaPushta locality, said the price of one kilogram of the commodity was 70afs, the same as last week’s.
Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders Association, said the price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakhstani flour decreased from 2,150afs to 2,050afs.
The wholesale price of flour increased from 2,750afs to 2,900afs.
He said the price of 24.5 kilogram of Pakistani rice accounted for 3,000afs, 16-liter tin of Malaysian cooking oil 1,800afs, one kilogram of black African tea 400 afs and the same amount of Indonesian green tea 350afs.
Hamid Sufizada, a retailer on Dehna-i-Bagh market, said the retail price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakh flour wast 2,100afs, a 24 kilograms bag of Pakistani rice 3,050afs, a 49-kilogram sack of Indian sugar 2,950 afs, a 16-litres cooking oil bottle 1,850afs, one kilogram of black tea 400afs and the same quantity of green tea 450afs.
Gold rates down
Mohammad Fawad, a jeweler in Timor Shahi market, said the price of one gram of Arabian gold decreased from 4,400afs to 4,350afs and the Russian variety stayed stable at 3,450afs.
Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange Service, said one US dollar traded at 89.20afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees at 305afs.
Last week, one US dollar was accounted for 89afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 325afs.
