Fuel prices fall by over 4pc in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of sugar, cooking oil increased while the rates of flour and fuel dipped in Kabul during the outgoing week, market sources said on Saturday.

A worker at the Ahmadyar Group of Pump Stations said the price of one litre of petrol fell from 67afs to 66afs and diesel from 75afs to 73afs.

Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in Kalola Pushta locality, said the rate of one kilogram of the commodity declined from 70afs to 64afs.

Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders Association, said the wholesale price of a 49 kilograms bag Indian sugar surged from 2,900afs to 2,950afs and 16 litre tin of Malaysian cooking oil from 1,800afs to 1,850afs.

He said the price of 49-kilogarm of Kazakhstani flour decreased from 1,950afs to 1,900afs.

He added 24.5-kilogram bag of Pakistani rice cost 3,000afs, a kilogram of African black tea 400 afs and the same amount of Indonesian green tea 350afs.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer on Dehna-i-Bagh Market, said the retail price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakh flour was 1,950afs, a 24-kg bag of Pakistani rice 3,050afs and a 49-kg sack of Indian sugar 3,000afs.

Similarly, he said, a 16-litres cooking oil bottle accounted for 1,900afs, one kilogram of black tea for 400afs and the same quantity of green tea for 450afs.

Gold prices down

Mohammad Fawad, a jeweller in Timor Shahi area, said the price of one gram of Arabian gold decreased from 4,400afs to 4,350afs and the Russian variety from 3,500afs to 3,450afs.

Afghani exchange rate

Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange Service, said one US dollar traded at 88.10afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees at 303afs.

Last week, one US dollar accounted for 89afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 300afs.
