Sharifi Education Centre in Farah offers free of cost tuitions

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok):  A national businessman in western Farah province has provided free of cost leaning opportunity of English Language, mathematics, literacy and calligraphy on his personal expenses.

Abdul Hameed Sharifi, a local businessman, said the purpose behind this initiative was to facilitate students who are unable to pay their tuition fees and wanted to study.

He told Pajhwok Afghan News: “I make this learning centre one year ago and currently 580 men and 190 women were busy learning mathematics, English language and calligraphy.”

He said his education centre was registered with the Education Department and all his activities were going on in coordination with the government authority.

Farah Education Department hailed Sharifi’s activities and asked other national businessmen to follow Sharifi’s.

Education Director Mawlavi Akhtar Mohammad Zaeem said: “Besides other welfare activities Sharifi provided free of cost learning opportunity for some students and we appreciate his effort.”

Farah residents are happy about Sharifi’s welfare activities and termed him as their hero.

Hamid Naikzad, the resident of Farah province, said: “Haji Abdul Hamid Sharifi is a hero, beside his service in the area of education, Sharifi supported less fortunate people as well,” he said.

Sharifi’s activities should be praised; he provided learning opportunities for hundreds of Farah youth in different disciplines.

Civil Society Activist Marzia Nawrozi said the people of Farh vowed to Sharifi’s welfare activities and he is considered as hero.

Fatima Farahi, another civil society activist, said: “Abdul Hameed Sharifi conducted several welfare activities and one of its examples is his education centre where hundreds of students are getting free of cost education.”

She said other businessmen and well-off individuals should also follow Sharifi’s way and help less fortunate people in one way or the other.

Students of Sharifi’s Education Centre also acknowledged that they were unable to pay for their tuitions thus they referred to Sharifi’s Education Centre.

Mohammad Naeem, a mathematic student, said: “I don’t have the financial strength to pay for tuition so thanks to Haji Abdul Hameed Sharifi who provided us this opportunity where we cans study free of cost.”

Mohammad Dawod, the student of English Language, said that his financial condition is not good and was unable to pay for the tuition fee. He was very happy to study free of cost in Sharifi’s Education Centre.
